Art Discovery: Leonardo Da Vinci 2
April 8 - How much do you really know about Leonardo da Vinci? Play Fact or Fiction and make paint l
How did Renaissance painters get their materials before art supply stores existed? In this art discovery class, students put their da Vinci knowledge to the test with a fun Fact or Fiction game, then step back in time to learn how painters in Leonardo's era sourced and made their own materials from scratch. The hands-on studio project has students mixing their own paint using primary colors, experiencing firsthand the process that Renaissance artists used to prepare their palettes. It is a creative, curious, and surprisingly satisfying way to connect with the craft behind the masterpieces. Art Discovery Classes are designed for older homeschoolers who are ready to look beyond how to make art and start thinking about why artists make the choices they do. Projects are age appropriate and flexible, allowing students to work at their own skill level while being encouraged to take creative risks and develop their own artistic voice. This class is best suited for pre-teens and teens, though students age 8 and up are welcome. All art supplies are included.
